How The Right WordPress Ping List Will Boost Your SEO and Traffic

By

Update your WordPress Ping list. Are you in need of more traffic? Would you like an easy way to boost your SEO? Who wouldn’t right? A free and easy way to assist in achieving maximum results with your SEO efforts is to ping your blog. When important blog pages are pinged search engine spiders will visit your site and index the information and URL. If you’re not doing this you should. Let me show you how and what WordPress ping list you need to be using.

WordPress Ping List: What is Pinging?

Pinging is a highly effective SEO strategy of promotion for WordPress blogs that allows you to submit individual blog posts or your blog home page to hundreds or thousands of directories at once. Using a specifically calculated WordPress ping list you can get a wave of traffic and boost the PageRank and authority of your blog with keywords that are niche specific to your blog posts, boosting your SEO efforts. But first you need a healthy WordPress ping list.

How does pinging work?

Whenever you update or publish your posts WordPress will shoot out a wave across your updated WordPress ping list (it is essential to keep your WordPress ping list current, updating every couple of months to keep up with new trends. It’s a good idea to bookmark this page or join the insider’s perspective mailing list to stay current with SEO efforts). This is a simple calling to search engine spiders to come and index your new or updated post.

By default WordPress begins each of their websites with the following list:

Not very extensive is it?

This is a more finely tuned WordPress ping list. Though some may debate about it being too long; to each their own. There is a slight chance a ping list this long can slow down your blog. I haven’t experienced this and am happy with the results, thus I keep it as it is.

WARNING! Using WordPress Can Ban Your Blog From Ping Services… But this free plugin will save your blog from getting banned.

How To Add This WordPress Ping List

  1. Login to WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings >> Writing
  3. On Writing Settings page go to bottom you will see Update Services and below it a Big Box
  4. In that Big Box add the ping list
  5. Save it

Like I mentioned before, you must be careful when using a WordPress ping list. You don’t want to get your blog banned, as this will cripple your SEO efforts. So whenever you edit, update or publish an article to your WordPress website your site automatically pings to the list you added. If you’re like me and make several tweaks to finely tune each blog post, hitting the publish button several times each new post, then you need this free plugin to save your site from being banned with pinging services. Once you have activated that plugin and updated your WordPress ping list your SEO efforts are solid and on the right track.

What are some other WordPress ping list methods you use?
