By

If there is one WordPress tutorial that remains the most popular it would have to be, Installing WordPress the right way. It’s simply one of the things I get asked most often by people looking to set up their first WordPress website, “Jeremy, How do I Install WordPress?”

Luckily for you as well as the rest of us WordPress has one of the easiest set-up processes you can imagine. Can a beginner do it? Yes, but it does take a bit of computer knowledge to get through it the first time. However, my goal with this blog is to make everybody successful with WordPress. I will do my best to break it down into the most simplest of terminology with images facilitating the step-by-step process on how to make installing wordpress super easy.

What You Have to Know About Installing WordPress

You will have to interact with a database. Are you afraid yet?

You will have to edit a configuration file and use an FTP client to upload the software. Did I lose you?

And you will have to run through its quick online install process, before modifying WordPress to suit your needs.

But don’t worry! I will teach you how installing WordPress is much easier than that method!

In this short guide to installing WordPress, I am going to hold your hand through each step. Facilitated by images I guarantee you’ll walk away ready to tackle your wordpress dashboard and be on your way to dominating Google!

I am going to assume a few things in this article, like that you already have a domain name and hosting account set up. Otherwise, let’s get to it!

Guide to Installing WordPress

Follow the step-by-step guide below in order to quickly and easily active WordPress on your hosting account:

Step 1: Login to your CPanel. You simply do this by typing in your domain name followed by slash Cpanel. For example www.YourDomainName.com/Cpanel

Your hosting provider will provide you with the login details.

Locate the Fantastico De Luxe icon as seen in the image below.

Step 2: Find and click the WordPress link as seen in the image below.

Step 3:  Select New Installation:

Step 4: Here you will have to decide the location of your blog. For example if you would like tohave it as your site front page, simply leave the directory box blank. Otherwise fill in the appropriate folder name. Next, fill in the administrator details. These are the details you will need to easily remember for each time you open up your WordPress dashboard and enter a new blog post. Add you email account configuration, use your primary email account, and finish by clicking the Install WordPress button.

Step 5: A new confirmation page will be loaded for the installation. Click the Finish Installation button if no errors are reported. If errors are reported you will have to go back and address the issues at hand.

Step 6: After the installation is finished the final screen will load. Here you will find the installation details. You will be able to email the details to any address you choose. I recommend to send them to yourself and keep them for future reference.

And viola! Installing WordPress is complete. Now was that so bad?
